Biodiversity and the Recreational Value of Green Infrastructure in England

Green infrastructure refers to connected corridors of greenspaces within and beyond urban areas. It provides sustainable ecosystem goods services for people wildlife, enhancing their wellbeing protecting them against climatic extremes. However, the exact contributing factors betterment green are not systematically examined at a national level. This study aims identify what helps improve biodiversity recreational value infrastructure. The uses hotspot analysis, ordinary least squares (OLS) regression geographically weighted (GWR) understand spatial patterns relevant variables outcomes. Findings suggest that high wildlife species richness was reported in Forestry Commission woodlands country parks, whilst doorstep greens village returned poor richness. greenspace affected most by certain types (e.g., woodlands) as well percentage cover. They indicate is generally areas away from centres, while access an space brings us value. These results complex system requires right balance between different priorities services.
